MICK, MICK …, 2023

Hand painted vintage travel case referencing Mick Lynch and railways robotic age and Aer Lingus with vintage Aer Lingus sticker.
Back of travel case referencing Mick Lynch. This side has image of head and shoulders large and smaller person with sideboard and structure. Could be referencing inner thoughts or memories.

A true vintage.  An old travel case possibly from the 1950s which had an old Aer Lingus sticker on it which became part of the art work.  Hand painted on front and back.

The sticker became part of a clock with the lettering “Not the Nine o’clock News” around it.  For those who remember the song “The Memory Kinda Lingers”, the lettering “cunni” has been added.  You can work that one out.

Further reference is made to Mick Lynch and the railways with the words “Mick, Mick, who the eff is Mick … Lynch” and then there is a request for “Fair Pay for Robots” as we enter the robotic age.  “Jaysus” appears on the case as does “I do like to be beside the seaside” all illustrated using Angelus paint.

The back of a case is an image of a person’s head and shoulders with a smaller person which could represent thoughts or memories along with a sideboard and some kind of structure.

Original, one-off piece.  Case does not open.
